Steni

Steni is one of the most famous winter resorts in Greece and one of the most picturesque villages of Evia. It is situated at the foot of Dirfys, the highest mountain in Evia, 30 km. from Halkida. Steni has 1,280 inhabitants and consists of three settlements: Pano and Kato Steni and the almost abandoned village of Pyrgos (Skounteri). In the village center there is a paved square with picturesque water fountains. There are also trees which offer their shade over the traditional cafes and taverns. Moreover, there are many parks throughout the village and a street market where you can buy products of the village and Dirfys: tea, oregano, cheese, honey, handmade pasta etc.
