Methana Tours

Hiking trails in an untouched natural environment with wonderful views.

The peninsula of Methana is of volcanic origin and, therefore, the physiology of the soil has helped in the creation of a beautiful and green environment, between the hills, the valleys and the low plateaus.

This area is an ideal destination for hiking and climbing among ancient stone paths, volcanic craters, ancient cisterns, old abandoned villages and unique Byzantine Churches.

As a visitor you can combine hiking with the study of the unique flora of the peninsula. You can also visit the 30 craters of volcanoes, the archaeological sites and the villages of Methana.

This alternative form of tourism is nice for the summer months, but also for spring and autumn when the temperature is not high. The road network is good and almost all roads are paved with asphalt even at high altitudes.

Throughout the peninsula of Methana, there is a network of trails and dirt roads, about 70 km long, of historic and unique beauty. These footpaths have served the needs of all previous generations and they continue being used till nowadays.
