Tis Grias to Pidima (The Old Lady's Jump)

It is one of the most popular beaches of the island. It took its name from a rock, which rises from the water. According to local tradition, the Castle of Kohilos had always been impregnable. In order to conquer it, the Turks sent an old lady with her daughter to seek refuge in the castle. The inhabitants accepted the two women and the old lady secretly opened the gates and the castle was taken. However, she could not bare the shame and committed suicide by falling from the rock.

The beach is located in the southeast side of the island. There is an asphalt road that leads to the coast, but you will need to descend the path on foot to reach the beach.
