The island has a network of footpaths that are ideal for hiking. Visitors can enjoy the landscape of Ios, but also to find traces of cultural monuments. There are five routes:
- Chora - Agios Spyridon - Perivolia - Agios Prokopios – Pelekania
- Pelekania - Pateras Viglari - Museum Gaitis - Theatre Odysseas Elytis - Windmills – Chora
- Agios Prokopios - Perivolia - Epano Kampos - Ellinika - Bridge Pretesi - Skarkos – Chora
- Chora - Kolitsani Beach
- Harbour – Valmas Beach
