Falassarna

The beautiful beach of Falassarna is 59 kilometers west of Chania and 17 kilometers west of Kissamos. It is located in the western part of Gramvousa Peninsula. At the northern end of the beach you can see the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Falassarna.

This beach is one of the most famous beaches of Greece. In the past it was awarded as the best beach in Crete and one of the 10 best beaches in Europe. Falassarna is very big, it actually consists of five consecutive beaches. The two central ones are the most popular with bathers.

The sand at Falassarna is white, giving the water a tropical color. If you are lucky and it is not windy (something which is rare on Crete!), you will be enchanted by the sea and its turquoise waters.
